English B2 Speaking and Listening

Language preparatory programme · Prepares you for Trinity College London GESE Grade 7 (CEFR B2)

This programme takes your spoken English from B1 to B2. At B2 you:

  • give and defend opinions;
  • weigh advantages and disadvantages;
  • make suggestions;
  • lead a conversation, which is what work, study and everyday life in English often ask for.

The programme follows Trinity College London’s Graded Examination in Spoken English (GESE) Grade 7, a fifteen-minute one-to-one exam. It asks more of you than Grade 5:

  • you lead the discussion of a topic you have prepared;
  • you take control of a short interactive task;
  • you share ideas and opinions on two subjects chosen by the examiner.

The programme works the same way as our B1 programme. You:

  • listen to example conversations;
  • practise every part of the exam aloud;
  • get feedback straight away;
  • finish with full mock exams timed like the real one.

This is a preparation programme and does not award a qualification. If you decide to take the GESE exam, you book it with Trinity and pay the exam fee to them. This programme is independent of Trinity College London.
